We passed a number of people coming down the track but by the time we reached the place that was obviously intended to be the end of the walk there were only a handful of us there. Amongst the others admiring the view were a couple from San Francisco; Linda (environmental lawyer for a non-profit making organisation, in NZ for a conference, she said) and Wayne (real estate manager for a tech company). Do you think there might be some conflict of principles between those two from time to time?
After we had finished chatting to Linda and Wayne, Lawson pointed out that we were still some distance from the highest ground around, and since we can never resist climbing the next hill or going around the next corner, we continued climbing until we were satisfied that we'd seen the best view to be had from there.
